A Dream in the Making!

In 2003, Zion congregation decided to launch a new mission and the New Life Child Development Center.

The church purchased 14 acres of land on the southwest corner of Marsh Road and State Road 545 in Winter Garden, FL.

God has blessed us with the opportunity to start building!

On August 26, 2007, Zion held the groundbreaking ceremony for its new facility. Rev. Paul Foust, Phil Zaccagnini, President, Zion's Board Members, and all the congregation gathered at the construction site for a worship service in a cleared area surrounded by pine trees. Also participating in the ceremony was the Rev. Gerhard Michael, President of the Florida-Georgia District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. The ground-breaking also incorporated roles for its youngest and longest active members.

Phase I of construction began - the land was cleared, the foundation poured, and the steel-work assembled. This phase included erecting a 20,400 square-foot, multi-purpose building with connecting classrooms. The East-Wing of the L-shaped structure opened in October 2008.

The south wing of the new building features a multi-purpose room and serves as the worship site of the congregation until phase II is complete. Phase II of the project will include a 20,000 square-foot sanctuary along with picnic facilities, softball and soccer fields, and potentially a future school expansion building of 15,000 square-feet.
